Your right to erasure

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live this may be a legal right, and we honour the request either way.

How to ask

Delete your account in Hookio under Settings, within three taps of your shelf, or write to [email protected] from the address on the account. Our Data Deletion page describes exactly what each route removes.

Checking it is you

If you write to us rather than using the app, we need to be reasonably sure the request comes from the account holder. Usually the request arriving from the account's own email address is enough. If it does not, we may ask one further question, and we will not ask for more information than the check needs.

What is deleted

Your account record, your email address, your whole shelf and the usage events tied to your account. The shelf means every pattern you imported and the images behind it, every verdict, every project and its row position, every note, every photo attached to a row, and every stash entry.

Deletion is permanent and we cannot undo it.

What is retained

Only what the law requires us to keep, such as transaction records, and only for as long as that obligation lasts. Purchase records held by the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by their policies and are not ours to delete, which is also why deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.

How long it takes

In-app deletion is immediate. An emailed request is acknowledged within a few business days and completed within the period the applicable law sets, and in any case within a reasonable time.

Your other rights

Deletion is one of several rights you may have. You may also be able to access what we hold, correct it, export it in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, or complain to your local data protection authority.
