Bravo Privacy Policy

How the Bravo app collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated September 5, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Bravo, a written-arithmetic practice app for children developed by Idion, collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies specifically to the Bravo app on iOS and Android, not to other Idion products.

Bravo is set up and paid for by a parent or guardian, and this policy is written to them. By using Bravo, you agree to the practices described here.

What we collect

**The parent's email address.** This is the only piece of personal contact information Bravo ever holds. It is collected once, when the adult creates the account, using an email address and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. When Apple or Google provides a private relay address instead of a real one, that is what we hold.

**The child's first name and age, if the parent enters them.** Both are optional, both are typed by the adult during setup, and neither is ever requested from the child using the device. Apple's full name scope is deliberately not requested.

**Practice progress.** Which levels a child has reached and completed, and for each attempt: the level, how many problems it contained, how long it took, how many times the guided walkthrough was opened, and which digits were retried.

**Settings.** The notation style chosen for the child, the practice goal, and the reminder days selected, if reminders are turned on.

**Anonymous usage events.** Which screens are reached and which actions are taken, stored as an event type and its properties in our own database.

**Subscription status**, received from our subscription management provider.

This is the complete list of what Bravo collects today. If that changes as the app grows, this policy will be updated first, and the "last updated" date above will reflect it.

What we do not collect

To be specific rather than leave this to inference:

**Nothing is collected from the child.** A child never types an email address, a name, a birthdate, or any other identifying detail. There is no free-text field a child can write into, no chat, no messaging, and no way for a child to communicate with anyone inside or outside the app.

Bravo does not use the microphone or the camera, and requests neither permission. It does not collect location of any kind, precise or approximate. It collects no advertising identifier, no biometric data, no contacts, no health or medical records, and no government-issued identification. We do not collect or store payment card, bank, or other financial account details.

**There is no advertising in Bravo, and no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or tracker of any kind in the app.** This is structural rather than a promise: there is no such library in the dependency tree to misuse.

If any of this changes in a future version of the app, we will update this policy before that change ships, not after.

Accounts

**Bravo requires an account, and the account belongs to the adult.** There is no anonymous or guest mode: that path was removed from the app deliberately, so that no practice is ever recorded against someone we have not identified as the parent.

The parent creates the account with an email address and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google, before any placement or level is saved. The email address is used to sign in, to reset a password, and to contact the account holder about the service. It is not used for marketing unless the account holder separately asks us to.

Everything the app stores is scoped to that account at the database level, so one family's records can never be read by another.

Practice reminders

If a parent turns on reminders, we store which days were chosen so the setting survives a new device. The reminders themselves are scheduled **on the device** by the operating system.

Bravo does not register a push notification token, does not operate a notification server, and cannot send anything to a device on its own. Reminders never carry a badge, are never presented while the app is open, and are never used for marketing. They can be turned off in the app or in device settings at any time.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to run Bravo: to put a child at the right level, to keep their progress, to show a parent how it is going, and to deliver the reminders that were asked for. We do not use it for any purpose beyond operating and improving Bravo, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Usage analytics

We record which screens are reached and which actions are taken, so we can see where the app is confusing and fix it. These events are stored in our own database.

**We use no third-party analytics service and no advertising service.** This information is not shared with anyone and is not combined with data from other apps.

Subscriptions and payments

If a parent subscribes, we collect the subscription status through our subscription management provider. Payment itself is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. **We never see or store payment card details.**

A child cannot start a purchase on their own: the parent is asked to sign in again before a subscription begins, and the App Store separately requires Face ID, Touch ID, or the account password at the payment step.

Third-party services

We rely on a limited number of infrastructure providers to operate Bravo: hosting and the database, sign-in through Apple and Google when the parent chooses it, and a subscription management provider. These process information on our behalf, under confidentiality and data protection commitments, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. Nothing here is an exception for children's data: there is none of it to share.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including encrypting data in transit and restricting access so that your records are readable only by your own account. Every table enforces this at the database level rather than in application code. No system is perfectly secure, but security is a priority in how we build Bravo, not an afterthought.

If we become aware of a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you and take appropriate action as required by applicable law.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Bravo's features. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information as described on our Data Deletion page, except where retention is required by law or for the limited purposes described there.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection, consistent with applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, export it in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. As the account holder, a parent may exercise these rights over the child's records as well as their own.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with its own data protection law, you may have additional or more specific rights under that law. These are not reduced by anything in this policy.

See our Data Deletion page to request deletion, or contact us using the details on our Contact page for any other request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and in any case within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

Bravo is designed to be used by children, and it is set up and paid for by a parent or guardian. **We do not collect personal information from children.** The account belongs to the adult: the only contact detail we ever hold is the parent's email address, and a child never enters one.

What a child produces in the app — which levels they have done, how long an attempt took, which digits they retried — is stored against the parent's account and is visible only there. We show no advertising, use no advertising identifiers, use no third-party analytics or tracking services of any kind, and there is no way for a child to communicate with anyone outside the app.

The child's first name and age are the only child-identifying fields the app can hold. Both are optional, both are entered by the parent, and the app works without either.

The adult sets it up, and stays in control

Setting up Bravo requires an adult. The account is created by the parent before any practice is saved, and the parent accepts our Terms of Use on behalf of the child who uses the app.

**Bravo has no arithmetic parental gate, on purpose.** A puzzle that asks for a two-digit sum is a weak control in an app whose own content teaches column addition through long division: a child on the upper half of the ladder solves it faster than a tired parent, and it got weaker every week a family used the product.

What protects the four actions that matter instead is re-authentication. Starting a subscription, accepting a retention offer, restoring purchases, and deleting the account each ask the parent to sign in again with the method their account already uses. A confirmation lasts five minutes and is held in memory only. For a purchase, iOS independently requires Face ID, Touch ID, or the Apple ID password at the payment layer, which is a real control our own check sits on top of rather than replaces.

A parent can review what the app holds, correct it, or delete it at any time using our Data Deletion page, and deleting the account removes the child's records with it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Bravo evolves. We will update the "last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
