Nixo is an app, not a website
Nixo is a mobile app, not a website, and it does not use cookies.
What is stored on your device
It does store a small amount of data locally on your device so it can work: your anonymous session or your sign-in, your theme choice, which of the four rule families you have switched off, and your scan history with the verdict held against each scan. The history is stored locally on purpose, because it is what lets a card you have already seen come back instantly with no connection. This stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Our website
Our website uses only the cookies needed for the site to function. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
No advertising, no tracking
Nixo contains no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics SDK, and no advertising identifier. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not build an advertising profile, and there is nothing here to opt out of because there is nothing collecting it. This is also why the app never shows you a tracking prompt: it has nothing to ask permission for.
Usage events stay in our own database, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Managing what is stored
You can clear everything Nixo has stored locally by deleting the app. Without an account that also removes your scan history, because without an account it lives on that one phone and nowhere else. Deleting your account removes what we hold on our side, as described on our Data Deletion page.
If this ever changes
If we ever add a technology that tracks you, we will update this page before that change ships, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it.
