How to delete

Open Ourpot and go to Settings → Delete account. That is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

If you cannot reach the app, write to [email protected] from the address on the account, saying whether you want everything deleted or only part of it. If your account was never saved with an email address, the in-app option is the only way we can tell the request comes from you.

What is deleted

Deleting your account removes your account record and email address, your profile name, colour and profile picture, your device push tokens, your comments and votes on requests, the usage events tied to your account, and every pot in which you are the only member, with everything in it.

In a pot you share with other people, the pot and its history stay for them. The expenses and income you added remain in that history without your name, you are shown as a former member, and ownership passes to another member. Once deletion is done we cannot recover any of it.

Deleting part of your data

You can delete individual entries without closing your account: remove a transaction, a request or your profile picture, or leave a pot. The owner of a pot can also delete the whole pot for everyone. Closing your account removes everything listed above.

If you only want to stop paying, cancelling a subscription is enough on its own and does not delete anything.

What may be retained

We may keep a limited amount of information after deletion where the law requires it. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and subscription records also sit with them and with our subscription provider under their own retention rules; deleting your Ourpot account does not reach those. Shared pot history stays with the remaining members, as described above.

Anything we keep is kept only for that purpose and for no longer than necessary.

Timing

In-app deletion happens immediately. An emailed request is acknowledged within a few business days and completed within the timeframe the law where you live requires, and in any case within a reasonable time. We will tell you when it is done.
